About the Meeting
The ENERWA Annual Meeting was held on Tuesday May 13th at Hances Point Yacht Club and, what seems like it has become an annual tradition, it was another cold and rainy day but that didn’t slow down the great food and fun. The Board of Directors was joined by approximately 25 ENERWA members and supporters. We would like to extend our gratitude to our very gracious hosts at the Hances Point Yacht Club as well as all the supporters who came out in the unpleasant weather to attend!
Our guest speaker for the event was Eric Buehl from the Maryland Sea Grant Extension office. Eric talked about many interesting things that the Maryland Sea Grant Extension office does like serving as a bridge between scientific expertise and the needs of people who manage, conserve, enjoy, and make their living from the Chesapeake Bay.
The Sea Grant Extension also works with local governments, community groups and citizens to help resolve critical water quality issues. Eric provided us with updates on many projects that he has been directly involved with over the past few years on the Eastern Shore, and even more specifically in Cecil County. The project goals are to help improve historical stormwater runoff issues, while helping to improve water quality at the same time. There is a great need throughout our community for these types of resolutions and having someone like Eric work through to help meditate these though these difficult types of issues is an extremely important asset to have in our community. We are very grateful to Eric for his presentation and the education he provided us.

We hope to see you all at the 2026 Annual Meeting next May!
